Deck Coatings

Waterproof deck coatings for balconies, pool areas and walkways, with anti-slip finishes where feet are wet.

A deck is a roof that people walk on

A balcony or pool deck carries the same weather a roof does, plus feet, furniture and spilled drinks. In New Orleans it sits under hard sun for months and then takes a summer storm every afternoon. Sun fades and cracks a coating, water finds the cracks, and a worn surface lets that water reach the slab or the structure underneath.

That is where the real damage starts: rusting reinforcement, spalled concrete, rot in a wooden deck, a stain on the ceiling of the room below. A coating that is still intact is the cheapest layer in the whole assembly, and the one that keeps all the others dry.

Anti-slip finishes, concrete decks and waterproof membranes

Paramount coats decks with waterproof deck coatings that form a barrier against water, UV and daily use. Anti-Slip Deck Coatings add traction for pool areas and for decks with frequent foot traffic, and they resist water and grime so the surface stays clean as well as grippy.

Concrete Deck Coatings shield concrete from wear, cracks and staining, and suit the high-traffic decks of commercial buildings. The finish can be a quiet grey, a terracotta tone or a decorative aggregate, depending on the courtyard or balcony it has to sit in.

Wooden decks get a waterproof sealant coating too, because moisture held in the wood is what rots it over time. Whatever the substrate, the coating is chosen for what the deck faces: sun, standing water, pool traffic or heavy use.

Prep, traction and the wear layer

On a deck, preparation decides how long the coating lasts. The surface is cleaned, cracks and spalls are repaired, and the coating goes onto sound, dry material it can grip. A beautiful finish laid over a dirty or damp slab peels.

Slip resistance matters most where feet are wet, at the pool edge, at a balcony door, at the top of a stair. Traction in the finish is part of the system, not an extra, and it wears down with traffic, so heavily walked paths are the first places to check.

Keep drains clear so water leaves the deck instead of standing on it, and recoat the wear layer before the membrane beneath is exposed. If a deck in New Orleans is showing worn patches, hairline cracks or a slick surface, call or text 504-723-4112 to set up a visit.

Anti-slip deck coatings give added traction for pool areas and decks with frequent foot traffic, and concrete deck coatings shield against wear, cracks and staining.
